Industrial Estates and industries are coming up very fast in almost
all parts of the District. The Industries Center, Nashik is co-ordination
the Industrial Development of the District. There are 6 MIDC and
10 Co-operative Industrial Estates. A separate Co-operative Industrial
Estate for woman has also been established. Setting up four Industrial
Estates at Malegaon, Sinnar, Satana and Manmad by MIDC has been
approved and the work is in progress. Similarly two Co-operative
Industrial Estates at Nandgaon and Kadwa are being established
shortly.
In addition to the big industrial
area developed by the MIDC, as per the policy of the Govt. of
Maharashtra on Industrialisation in rural areas almost all the
Blocks of this District have been covered under Cooperative sector.
It is a note worthy to mention here that the cooperative Industrial
Estate of Sinnar is one of the largest Cooperative Industrial
Estate in the country and functioning efficiently. The Cooperative
Industrial Estate, Sinnar has been presented an Award by the Federation
of Cooperative Industrial Estates. Eight Cooperative Industrial
Estates have provided all required infrastructure facilities to
the units for their establishment and functioning.
The Associations of Industrialists
are very active. They help to solve the problems of the industrialist
with positive approach. The Nashik Industries and Manufacturers’
Association (NIMA) is organising an Exhibition on big scale regularly.
This helps for industrial growth in the District as well as to
find market for the existing products.
Apart from Grapes, Onion and
Vegetables, many industrial products are also being exported from
Nashik. To facilitate the export a Container Freight Station has
been started at MIDC Ambad by the Central Government. Following
infrastructure facilities are proposed in future, for rapid industrial
development.

To
meet the requirements of trained personnel and skilled people,
training arrangements have been made at following places.
a) Govt. ITI : Nashik(Boys), Nashik(Girls), Chandwad, Dindori, Ghoti,
Kalwan, Peth, Sinnar, Surgana (Total : 9).
b) Private ITI : Nashik(5), Panchavati, Malegaon, Pimpalgaon Baswant, Deola,
Satana, Manmad, Sinnar, Ojhar (Total : 13).
c) Polytechnic Collage : Nashik Road, Nashik, Chandwad, Malegaon (Total:4).
d) Engineering Collage : Two at Nashik.
Training,
educational facilities are created at above 28 centers to impart
training in more than 36 trades.
Since
last 6-8 years, industrial development has picked up the speed,
particularly after declaration of a five-star mega industrial
estate on 2700 ha. Land in Sinnar block. There are 174 medium
and large industrial units employing 75,834 people. Many reputed
and large companies like Mahindra & Mhindra, MICO, Siemens,
Crompton Greves, Kirloskar, Reymond steel, Jindal, Brook Bond,
L & T, Ceat, VIP, Carbon Everflow, Garware, Jyoti Structures,
Samsonite, Datar Switch Gears, Glaxo India etc. have established
their units in the District. Prestigious project IDEM of Mahindra
& Mahindra is established in Nashik very recently. Some of
the important Public Sector establishments like India Security
Press, Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd., Currency Note Press and Thermal
Power Station etc. are also located in the District. These industries
have brought the District on the National & International
map. In addition to these industries the District also has national
level institutes like (I) Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Institute of
Rural Technology & Training run by KVIc and (ii) Indian Institute
of Numismatic Studies & Research at Trimbakeshwar.
In
remote areas like Surgana Block, many tribals are engaged in Carpet
weaving. Export quality carpets are prepared in and around Umbarthan
(Tal. Surgana) NABARD has selected Yeola Block for Development
of Paithani Cluster.
The
District Industries Centre has been set up to render all assistances
under one roof to the potential entrepreneurs for starting their
own industries.
RURAL, COTTAGE & SMALL SCALE INDUSTRIES:
The Khadi and
Village Industries Board (KVIB) is implementing various schemes
for promotion to the rural and cottage industries such as Special
Component Plan for SC. Margin Money Scheme and DRI scheme. KVIB
operates in two ways. They sponsor proposals to the banks under
above schemes and also conduct training courses. A National level
Training Institute is situating din Nashik on Trimbak Road to
cater training needs of various trades.
Training facilities
are also made available by various agencies. There are 9 Govt.
ITI and 13 Private it is in the District. Similarly there are
four Polytechnics and one Engineering College. All these institutes
are imparting training in more than 35 trades. Besides some private
training institutes conduct small duration courses in many technical
trades.
For extending
assistance to the entrepreneur in establishing their units, Industrial
Estates have been established at various centers. Details on the
Industrial Estates are as given on the next page.
The State Govt.
has identified some blocks as growth centers. These growth centers
have been given next category for getting concession. e.g. the
growth centre in C one shall get benefits of C+ zone.

At
Vinchur 13 plots have been sold.
In
addition to above Industrial Estates some private Industrial Estates
have also been formed at Gonde (Tal. Igatpuri), and Lakhmapur
(Tal. Dindori). There are 174 medium and large Industrial Units
functioning in the District and 376 medium and large units are
proposed to be registered. 7547 S.S.I. units are functioning in
the District. About 60,000 power looms are operating in the District,
mainly in Malegaon block. The State Govt. has declared establishment
of FIVE STAR Industrial Estates in Sinnar Block. This would be
covering 2700 hectares area. This will be a biggest Industrial
complex in Asia. The MIDC is also trying to set up industrial
Estates at Malegaon, Satana, Sinnar and Manmad. There are four
private Industrial areas in the District at Gonde (Igatpuri),
Lakhmapur and Walkhed ( Dindori) and Dyane (Malegaon).

Schemes
of District Industries Centre
Pradhan Mantri Rojgar
Yojana (PMRY)
The PMRY scheme helps the educated
un-employed youth to start profitable venture on self employment
basis. A maximum assistance of Rs. 2 lakhs on Industry Service
ventures and Rs. 1 lakh in case of business ventures will be extended.
The candidates interested to get assistance under this scheme
should satisfy the following conditions.

men, SC, ST and handicapped persons the age is relaxed up to 45

If the candidate has availed any
schemes with central subsidy, he/she will not be eligible for
this scheme.
Seed Money Scheme (RSMS)
The Seed Money Scheme helps the
educated un-employed people to start profitable venture on self
employment basis. The following are the loan rates of Seed Money
Scheme of the cases having the project cost less than Rs. 1 Lac.

The project cost having greater
than 1 Lac will get seed money upto Rs. 1.5 Lacs, at the rate
of 15%. Under this scheme, sales tax subsidy will get for the
business of transportation of Lorry / Tempo. After refund of the
loan, from 3 to 7 years, annually 4 installment will be applicable
for refund and its loan rate will be 10%.

Climate
in the District is also suitable for allied activities such as
Dairy, Poultry, and Sheep & Goat rearing. There are two large
units of poultry viz. C & M Groups and Ashok Kumar Hatcheries
in Nashik. Few years backsome farmers have tried to establish
medium sized goat rearing units under stall-fed conditions. However
the results are not encouraging. Dairy has been identified as
Key activity under S.G.S.Y. in almost all the blocks. The district
has unlimited potential for dairy activity. Allied activities
have also very good scope, as the gigantic market of Mumbai is
at the doorstep of the District.
The
district has been identified for the purpose of establishment
of Wine Park and Food Park.
